About Us
Family Health Centers of San Diego is a private nonprofit community clinic organization that is an integral part of San Diego's healthcare safety net. Since 1970, our mission has been to provide caring, affordable, high quality healthcare and supportive services to everyone, with a special commitment to uninsured, low income and medically underserved persons.
Family Health Centers of San Diego operates 33 locations throughout the County of San Diego, including 13 primary care clinics, 3 dental clinics, an HIV clinic, and 3 mobile medical units which provide healthcare services at approximately 70 community sites. In 2011, Family Health Centers of San Diego cared for over 165,000 individuals through over 625,000 patient encounters.
There are over 600,000 individuals without healthcare in San Diego County, 150,000 of which are children. As the numbers of uninsured and underserved continue to rise in San Diego and nationwide, we strive to expand our network of locations and services to care for those who face the most substantial barriers to health care access.
