The CW Cares for Kids Donates $10,000 to Family Health Centers of San Diego
Funds Support KidCare Express Mobile Medical Unit Program
San Diego, CA- The CW Cares for Kids Fund has selected Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) for a grant of $10,000 for their KidCare Express Mobile Medical Unit program.
FHCSD’s three KidCare Express Mobile Medical Units provide health services to uninsured and medically underserved children in collaboration with local schools, community centers, and social service agencies. This generous grant will help fund routine physicals, immunizations and sick care for uninsured children throughout the San Diego community.
“Family Health Centers of San Diego is honored to partner with The CW Cares for Kids,” said Jennette Lawrence, FHCSD Director of Government and Community Relations, “their support has truly made a difference in the lives of the young patients we serve.”
The CW Cares for Kids, a fund of the McCormick Tribune Foundation, was established to improve the lives of children and families in San Diego County by supporting local children’s charities.
Family Health Centers of San Diego is a private, non-profit organization that provides comprehensive, accessible, quality healthcare services to persons of all income levels, with a special commitment to low income, medically underserved individuals. In 2006, FHCSD provided over 400,000 patient visits to over 100,000 individuals, most of whom are living below the poverty line.
