Brigadier General Angela Salinas to Speak at Spirit of the Barrio Luncheon

Founding President and CEO of Alliance Healthcare Foundation Ruth Riedel to receive Spirit of the Barrio Award

San Diego, CA- Brigadier General Angela Salinas will be the keynote speaker at Family Health Centers of San Diego’s March 21 Spirit of the Barrio luncheon. Salinas is the highest ranking Latino woman in the Marine Corps. In May 2001 she became the first woman to serve as a recruiting district command officer. Today, as the Commanding General of the Marine Crops Recruit Depot San Diego, she oversees the training of 18,000 new recruits annually.
 
Family Health Centers of San Diego CEO Fran Butler-Cohen will also be presenting a Spirit of the Barrio Award to the Founding President and CEO of the Alliance Healthcare Foundation, Ruth Riedel, PhD.  For over two decades Dr. Riedel has dedicated her life to improving healthcare services to San Diego’s underserved communities.
