FHCSD will be formally honored at a luncheon on May 2 during CCE’s 18th Annual Best Practices and Awards Conference, Celebrating Excellence 2012 in Anaheim, California.

“It’s an honor to have a well respected organization like CAPE™ recognize our employee’s dedication to performance excellence and continuous improvement,” said Fran Butler-Cohen, CEO of FHCSD. “We strive daily to improve the quality and cost of services for our patients and appreciate the lessons we learned through the CAPE™ process.”

According to CCE, the CAPE™ Eureka award is the top level award that can be earned by organizations that successfully showcase their business operations and continuous improvement strategies to a team of CAPE evaluators during a week-long site inspection and in a 50-page application. The CAPE program guides California organizations to maintain competitiveness by promoting continuous improvement. Gold, Silver, Bronze and Prospector level awards may be earned by applicants.

In a CCE press release announcing this year’s awardees, Brent Duggleby, Chair of CAPE™ Council said “The accomplishments of our winners exemplify the superior performance and sustainability that is possible from California's various industries. The winners at each one of these award levels demonstrate a passion for excellence that is driving them to achieve prominence in each of their sectors. Californians can take pride in the accomplishments of these world-class organizations.”

“We will use the CAPE feedback report to identify focus areas for continuous improvement at FHCSD. We look forward to participating in the program for a second time next year,” said Butler-Cohen.
