We know you may have questions about potential COVID-19 booster shots.

Based on guidance from the FDA and CDC, FHCSD will be moving forward with booster doses for patients who previously received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. There are no current recommendations for booster doses for those who received the Moderna or J&J vaccines.

Patients who received two Pfizer vaccines more than six months ago, have not received monoclonal antibody treatment in the last 90 days and fall into one of the following categories will now be offered the booster shot.

Patients who should receive boosters:

  • Patients 65 and older
  • Patients ages 50-64 with a high-risk health condition
  • Patients ages 18-64 with a high-risk occupation including health care workers, first responders, teachers, prison/jail system or residence in a long term care facility

Patients who may receive boosters, after a discussion with their PCP:

  • Patients ages 18-49 with a high-risk health condition

High-risk conditions include:

  • Diabetes
  • Cirrhosis
  • Transplant
  • COPD
  • Down’s syndrome
  • Heart disease

  • Sickle cell
  • Thalassemia’s
  • Recent cancer
  • Pregnancy
  • Obesity
  • Asthma

  • PVD
  • CVD
  • Hypertension
  • Dementia
  • Pulmonary fibrosis
  • Severe mental health diagnoses

Appointments are preferred, but some clinics have limited walk-in capacity.

Starting Wednesday, August 4, parking may be limited due to ongoing construction. Please plan your arrival accordingly.
Tuesday-Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
North Park Family Health Center Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Diamond Neighborhoods Family Health Center Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
East Grossmont Spring Valley Family Health Center Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
El Cajon Family Health Center Tuesday-Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
South Chula Vista Family Health Center Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
