SAN DIEGO, CA – (September 19, 2024) On Saturday, October 5, 2024, Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD), in partnership with Healthy Americas and the National Alliance for Hispanic Health, will host the 16th Annual ¡Vive tu Vida! Get Up! Get Moving!® health and wellness event at Memorial Community Park in San Diego from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.
¡Vive tu Vida! Get Up! Get Moving!® almost 20 years ago to promote physical activity and good nutrition for Hispanic families, as well as to promote better health and wellness for people of all ages. Today, the event is the leading annual Hispanic family physical activity and healthy lifestyle event in the nation. ¡Vive tu Vida! has evolved into a recreational and resource hub for community health organizations, nonprofits and physical fitness programs to come together and inform the public of their services.
This event, free and open to the public, will feature Zumba instructors from across San Diego County, where families and guests can workout throughout the day with family and friends. There will be more than 20 booths of community organizations and vendors, each hosting a physical activity at their booth and providing giveaways. Guests are encouraged to engage in physical activity at each booth with their “¡Vive tu Vida! Pass.” Guests receive a signature at every booth they visit. Once a guest earns ten stamps, they will enter to win prizes. Guests will have an opportunity to win new bikes, bike helmets or other items.
FHCSD is naturally committed to making high-quality health care accessible. We understand that life events and quality of life can cause stress on the body from one day to the next. This event is the perfect opportunity for the public learn about the importance blood pressure and diabetes and receive bilingual, Spanish and English, resources on women’s health, nutrition and much more.
