Highlights included free health screenings, grocery giveaways, Zumba workouts, healthy snacks, games, raffles, live entertainment and pet services provided by the San Diego Humane Society.

Members of the San Diego Seals made a special guest appearance, demonstrating how to play lacrosse and taking photos with attendees.

This year’s event was held in partnership with the American Pacific Health Foundation, which provided free screenings for metabolic syndrome, including blood glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure and body mass index checks.

FHCSD staff also conducted more than 50 pediatric dental screenings and shared resources about lead exposure in the home, HIV testing, prenatal care, mental health, substance use prevention and breast cancer screenings.

“We are incredibly proud to host ¡Vive tu vida! — [it’s] an inspiring event that not only empowers our community to learn about the importance of health and exercise, but also brings families together to celebrate wellness, unity and joy in a truly uplifting way,” said Victoriano Diaz, director of patient engagement and enrollment at FHCSD.

FHCSD also acknowledged event sponsors San Diego Seals, Sharp HealthCare, Blue Shield Promise and Community Health Group for their support which made the event possible.
