SAN DIEGO, CA – (October 11, 2023) Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) hosted their 17th annual ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!® event, which took place on Saturday, October 7 at Memorial Park in the Logan Heights neighborhood of San Diego. The event brought together people of all ages and sizes, providing a day of fun, excitement and health resources for the whole family.

This year’s ¡Vive tu vida! event offered a wide range of activities and services aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and community wellness. The highlights of the event included free health screenings, Zumba workouts, healthy snacks, games, live entertainment and numerous bike raffles. The event also provided opportunities for attendees to connect with organizations offering essential resources throughout San Diego County.

One of the key features of this year’s event was the availability of flu vaccinations and COVID test kits at no cost. The inclusion of these vaccinations and kits was a testament to FHCSD’s commitment to the health and well-being of the community. Additionally, FHCSD provided almost 100 blood pressure screenings and more than 65 flu vaccines, also at no cost.

Elected officials and community leaders lent their presence to the event, further emphasizing the importance of community health and well-being.

“We are so fortunate to be able to put on this event in partnership not only with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health, but also with over 400 community partners who provide services in the most vulnerable communities of San Diego County,” remarked Fran Butler-Cohen, CEO of Family Health Centers of San Diego. “We’d also like to thank our sponsors for making this possible. Their commitment to this event shows that corporate social responsibility makes for better, healthier, safer communities.”

The event was open to all, with the goal of promoting health, wellness and community engagement throughout San Diego. The event’s reach and impact continue to grow each year, making it a beloved tradition in the local community.
