Our Programs

gay mens health programs

We offer programs and services to promote social, emotional, and physical well-being for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ) people.

In The Mix

In The Mix (ITM) is a social program for queer, bisexual and gay men of color, ages 18-29, with a focus on HIV prevention and community building. ITM hosts a variety of events ranging from HIV testing in the community to movie and game nights, among other activities, all with the goal of creating a thriving and supportive peer network. Activities are held in the ITM meeting space, a safe space for these youth to establish positive connections with each other and with counselors. The ITM space is located at 4040 30th St., San Diego, CA 92104 and is open Monday and Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. For more information, call (619) 876-4462 or email inthemix@fhcsd.org.

CLEAR stands for choosing life, empowerment, actions and results. CLEAR is a series of structured one-on-one counseling sessions for people living with HIV, focused on mental and emotional well-being and long-term goal setting. Participants also practice navigating conversations about health, HIV and personal needs. At its core, CLEAR is intended to facilitate the comfort of people living with HIV and to create lasting and supportive bonds with friends, family and partners. Better yet, participants who complete the entire CLEAR series will receive $100 for their time and effort! If it appears that CLEAR may benefit you or someone you know, call us at (619) 876-4462.

Real Talk

Real Talk is a series of one-on-one conversations with someone who will listen and understand without judgment for men living with HIV. These conversations can help you discover a plan not only to survive, but also to thrive in the gay community. Participants can earn $100. For more information, call (619) 876-4462.
