SAN DIEGO, CA — (October 12, 2026) Despite the heavy rain, hundreds of community members gathered at Memorial Community Park in Logan Heights on Saturday, October 10, for a day centered on accessible health services, practical wellness resources and family activities. The celebration marked the 20th anniversary of Family Health Centers of San Diego’s (FHCSD) ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!® event.

Across more than 30 booths, attendees connected with community organizations while enjoying exercise-based activities, healthy snacks, games, and live entertainment. Bellus Academy gave over 50 free haircuts during the event, the San Diego Humane Society provided pet microchipping, and more than 2,500 pounds of food was distributed to families through the generosity of Feeding San Diego.

The event also gave attendees the opportunity to address specific health needs in one convenient setting. FHCSD teams completed pediatric dental screenings and connected attendees with information on lead exposure in the home, HIV testing, prenatal care, mental health, substance use prevention and breast cancer screenings.

“¡Vive tu vida! brings trusted health information, preventive services and community resources directly to families in a welcoming environment. By making these services accessible and engaging, we help empower community members to take meaningful steps toward healthier lives,” said Victoriano Diaz, Director of Patient Engagement and Enrollment at FHCSD.

FHCSD is grateful to Blue Shield Promise, Community Health Group, Molina Healthcare, and Sharp HealthCare for their generous support and partnership in making this event possible.

By providing health information and direct services in a fun, community-based setting, ¡Vive tu vida! reduces barriers to care and connects families  to resources that will support their well-being long after the event ends.
