SAN DIEGO, CA – (November 21, 2023) Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) celebrated the grand finale of its quarterly series of events with the Spirit of the Barrio luncheon on November 17. The highly anticipated event, held at the Logan Heights Family Health Center, featured renowned inspirational speaker, national champion golfer and SDSU alumni, Jeremy Poincenot.

Jeremy’s captivating presentation encouraged attendees to embrace interdependence and harness the power of unity. As he took the stage, Jeremy shared his personal journey and reiterated the importance of working together as a community to achieve greatness. His message resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.

“Jeremy Poincenot’s words truly touched the hearts and minds of everyone present,” said Fran Butler-Cohen, CEO of FHCSD. “His story of resilience and determination inspired us to challenge ourselves and seek strength in our collective efforts.”

Another attendee deeply moved by Jeremy’s address stated, “Jeremy was the most captivating speaker I’ve ever seen, and this Spirit of the Barrio experience was life changing. He challenged all of us to get outside of ourselves and use the power of interdependence to be stronger as groups of people rather than individuals.”

Following his presentation, Jeremy engaged in a dynamic Q&A session with the audience and shared valuable insights. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet Jeremy personally, take pictures and obtain autographs which further enhanced the overall experience.

The Spirit of the Barrio luncheon welcomed community members and members of the press who were eager to witness this inspiring event. After closing out the year with this inspiring event, FHCSD looks forward to continuing these thought-provoking conversations as we head into 2024.
