As part of our mission to provide caring, affordable, high-quality health care and supportive services to all San Diegans, we have expanded Logan Heights Family Health Center to now include Urgent Care services. We are proud to welcome our Urgent Care providers Dr. Harris Niazi, M.D. and Marvic David, PA-C.
Dr. Harris Niazi, who serves as the Assistant Medical Director for Urgent Care, was raised in New York City, where he completed his B.A. in Middle Eastern and Islamic studies with a minor in chemistry at New York University. After graduating from Howard University’s College of Medicine, Dr. Niazi completed his residency through FHCSD’s Family Medicine Residency Training Program in 2018.
Born to immigrant parents who fled Afghanistan as refugees during the Soviet Union invasion, Dr. Niazi is fluent in Farsi, and spent almost every Saturday during his residency working with the refugee population to increase access to health care at El Cajon Family Health Center. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter Alina.
Marvic David received his undergraduate degree in health science from San Diego State University in 2012. During his undergraduate studies, he participated in study abroad programs in Mexico and Costa Rica, where he increased his fluency in medical Spanish and developed a deeper understanding of cultural competencies in medical care. Marvic worked as an emergency medical technician for two years before being accepted into the Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program at Western University of Health Sciences.
Upon graduation, he returned to San Diego to serve his community through FHCSD’s Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Immersion Program. He practiced adult medicine at Logan Heights Family Health Center before joining the urgent care team.
