Prenatal Care

Our team of board certified OB/GYNs and support staff provide medical care and case management to coordinate a patient’s entire pregnancy and after her delivery. This includes: pregnancy testing and counseling, medical care, ultrasounds, lab tests, referrals, postpartum visits and pediatric transition. We deliver babies at either the award-winning Scripps Mercy Hospital or Sharp Grossmont Hospital.

Health Education

Patients receive individual counseling to review physical changes during pregnancy and postpartum, common discomforts, fetal development, signs of labor, hospital registration process, family planning options and more.

Nutrition Counseling

Our staff teaches patients how to make healthy food choices and understand how these choices affect their developing baby. Patients also meet with a Nutritionist or Registered Dietitian to discuss appropriate weight gain during pregnancy and ways to lose weight after the baby is born.

Social Work

Our team of Social Workers provide individualized assessment and support and connect patients with community resources.

Breastfeeding Education and Support

We provide information about the risks of not breastfeeding, what to expect the first few weeks after delivery, how to produce enough milk, how to use and apply for a free breast pump and more. Our team of Certified Lactation Educators and Consultants are also available to provide support after the baby is born.

Hospital Tours

Our staff guides patients and their partners through a free one-hour tour of Scripps Mercy Hospital or Sharp Grossmont Hospital so they feel comfortable about their upcoming labor, delivery and recovery process.

Dental Care

Our staff can provide patients a referral for a free dental cleaning.

We also encourage expecting mothers to visit our Patient Care Support Services page for additional programs and support services.

Prenatal & Post-Partum Education Centers

This class includes newborn topics, such as breastfeeding support and how to prepare and store baby formula, as well as topics to help guide you as your child ages, such as what foods to avoid giving your child and how to introduce a sippy cup.
