Reach Out and Read is a program that gives books to families during well-child visits from birth through age five.
Our pediatricians write “prescriptions to read,” and every family is given a book to read together. For many children, the books we provide are the only books in their home.
Please support our program by making a financial contribution, hosting a book drive or donating new or gently loved books in English or Spanish.
In 2017, FHCSD sent home over 7,600 books and was recognized with the American Academy of Pediatrics California Award for Best Reach Out and Read program. Learn what makes this program so important from chief of pediatrics, Dr. Marsha Spitzer, here.
Help support Reach Out and Read at FHCSD through in-kind and monetary donations.
