CLEAR – Childhood LEAD Education & Reduction Program
+The accumulation of lead in a child’s body is known as childhood lead poisoning. The CLEAR program offers a FREE presentation to parents and caregivers (with children under six years of age) about the most common sources of lead, impact on health, how to identify lead poisoning in children and, most importantly, how to avoid it! Participants can also learn nutritional tips that help minimize lead absorption in case of exposure. Contact us to have your “Leaducation” class!

The CLEAR program is funded by the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program through the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency for the fiscal years of 2020-2025.
Diabetes Self-Management Education
+Increase your knowledge and acquire skills to manage diabetes and related conditions! Learn about the disease process, reducing risks and related acute complications, blood glucose monitoring, healthy eating strategies, a safe physical activity routine, methods to increase adherence to medication and techniques to manage the negative physical and emotional impact of diabetes.

Health Education
+Through individual counseling sessions, you can increase your knowledge and acquire skills to manage chronic diseases and other health-related conditions. These sessions cover the disease process, reducing risks and related acute complications, healthy eating strategies, setting a physical activity routine, increasing medication adherence and healthy coping techniques. You may benefit from our program if you live with one of the following health conditions:

Healthy Habits, Healthy Kids
+This weight management program helps kids 2 to 18 years old and their families increase their knowledge and acquire skills to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Families will learn about food groups, how to read labels, meal planning, healthy school lunches and snacks, setting a physical activity plan and more!

Let’s Prevent Diabetes Program
+Through this CDC-recognized lifestyle change program, participants will learn, laugh, share stories, try new things and build new habits – all while lowering the risk to develop Type 2 diabetes and improving overall health. A specialized lifestyle coach will facilitate discussions and help make the program fun and engaging. During these group classes, participants will learn to eat healthy without giving up the food they love, ways to increase physical activity, deal with stress and cope with challenges that can derail your hard work.

Smoking Cessation Classes
+Break the habit and live healthier! We offer group classes that support your decision to quit smoking. Five sessions, lasting 50 minutes each, include topics on behaviors and activities that can help break the smoking habit. For additional resources and support, consider contacting California Smokers’ Helpline, which can assist you in developing a quitting plan that’s right for you by working one-on-one with a trained telephone counselor. Toddler Nutrition Education (12 to 36 months)
+The first few years of life are very important for a child’s overall health and development. During these years a child will experience physical, social, emotional and educational growth, which requires proper nutrition, adequate rest and physical activity. These sessions will provide information on nutrition, safety, care and resources for parents during these critical years.
